Cute as a Button! What?

I don't know who ever decided that buttons were cute....because what I'm about to show you is waaaaaay cuter!

My new Niece was born today! Isn't she gorgeous?
I don't know all the fine details. I was actually informed of them, but I was just so excited to hear she was born that I didn't focus on remembering them! I know she was born today, October 20th around 11am. She was about 6 lbs and about 18 inches. One more thing I can't tell you is her name. She is currently helping her Mommy and Daddy decide on the perfect name. Whatever they pick, it will be perfect I'm sure. Until we know for sure, Mia and I are calling her Baby CoCo. :O)

What a Precious Bundle!

One more thing... I think we must rethink the cuteness comparisons! From now on, I say we just use "Cute As Baby CoCo!"

Fall Soccer 2010 Kick Off

Last weekend marked the kick off of the 2010 Fall Soccer season.
The Princess Strikers had a double game day their first Saturday of the season. Not always what one would want coming out of a Summer that offered few...ok...one practice day. Once the soccer season arrived, they only had a few practices leading up to game day. Needless to say, they may have not had the best two games. But hey, they can only get better from there, right?
This week, despite the early time slot of a brutal 8am game, they pulled off a tie. See! Only getting better!
And yes Coach Michael, it IS ok to bribe the girls with ice cream for good plays!
Let's go Princess Strikers!

First Cowpokes!

“Our class is the first ‘COWPOKES of the week’ class! Mrs. Lair is so proud of us! Great job!”
-Tracy Robertson, Jenks West 2nd Grade Teacher

I don't know what this honor means...so I will indeed be asking Mia tonight. But I thought I would post this since it is a picture of her class. This year she is in Multi-age 1st and 2nd. There are 25 1st and 25 2nd graders. Mrs. Robertson is the 2nd Grade teacher and Mrs. Anderson is the 1st Grade teacher. OMG….They are WONDERFUL!!! :0)

This IS Fall!

My FAVORITE Fall Candle Lights Our Home

Even though it is a balmy 94 degrees out, I have officially crowned this weekend the beginning of Fall. It is my favorite time of the year. I'm sure I share this love with soooooo many others. Fall is welcome at my house not only due to my extreme aversion for hot weather and the sun, but mainly because of all the fond memories that Fall has always made in my memory maker.
This weekend we celebrated Labor Day Weekend. Being today is Labor Day, I am looking back on a very wonderful weekend. The last week was so busy for us. Work, soccer practice, BM Wednesday, Twirling class brought us right up to Friday night and we had a party to go to! Kaitlyn, Mia's friend, had her 8th birthday party at The Grand Health Club on Friday night. They rented the upstairs where they had a Camp Rock 2 party. Fun and games and the premier of the movie Camp Rock 2 on The Disney Channel. The kids had a great time! We ended the evening with a couple Modelos...Yum!

Kaitlyn's 8th Birthday Party

Saturday was a total bummin' day. It was so awesome and very much needed. I don't think we did anything productive. We did sleep in until almost Noon. That is kind of productive. In my mind anyway. That night was the OU game against Utah State. We did not watch it, it was on Pay Per View. But I heard that the game was really close and the Sooners didn't play very well. I think they won...but that is all hearsay. :) My lovely in-laws Don and June came over to hang out with us and then later after the game our friends Tara, TJ and Tia swung by to visit for a bit. I had made a batch of chili earlier in the evening. That, yet another welcome to Fall! It was so delicious.

Marley Rockin' Out to Guitar Hero

Tara and I busted out the BM Wednesday Sky and whipped up a couple of Lemon Drops (my favorite shot) and we all took to a couple of rounds of Guitar Hero. Feels like a fun fall game to me! I am going to have to practice up though. It has been over a year since we have played it and I actually got booed off the stage by the computer audience! Yikes!
Sunday we went to lunch with The Buchanans at Los Cabos. Of course it was good! And it was great to see our friends. It had been a while since we got to see them. Later that evening we went over to Tara and TJ's and had burgers on the grill. Standard Labor Day fare. :)
It has been a weekend full of relaxing, hanging out, visiting and we won't forget sleeping in! I absolutely loved it!
Bring on the short week, which I am sure will be totally crazy. Mia turns 8 next week! EEK! We still have not determined what to do for her party. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. :0)
Next thing you know, we will be celebrating Halloween! Lots to do! Lots to do!

Calling All Talent Scouts!

After the victorious game of soccer on Saturday, we decided that we all REALLY needed an unwind session. So Troy, Mia and I paid a visit to The Wonderful Kirchhoff Family for the evening. We ordered some pizzas and had some beverages. We adults hung out on their wonderful patio while the kids played. It turned out that they were producing their own little play the whole time. They called it The Hip Hop Girl, The Bunny & The Genie. It was really cute. Kaitlyn was The Hip Hop Girl, Mia was The Bunny and Zac was The Genie. Here is the extremely raw unedited footage of the show:

Princess Strikers Spring Season Ender

Princess Strikers U7 Spring 2010

Well, can you believe that Saturday was the last Spring game for the Princess Strikers? Geesh! It seems like just yesterday we were getting all revved up to start the season. Our little team has come so far! Starting out at U5 in Spring 2008 as a random draw team...we have one of the most well rounded team of girls imaginable! We have lost a player along the way and picked up new girls as well as our team has grown to the U7 level. All the girls get along so well and are REALLY improving with each and every practice and game. And I must mention that our coaches are pretty wonderful as well!
This week, they played a team who they played earlier in the season. Let's just say they might be a bit on the rough side. By that I mean that they might tend to play a little dirty. The last time The Princesses played them we had at least 3-4 girls on our team with minor injuries. Not to mention they were a bit shell shocked. Our girls have never played a team like that before. So when we realized that the girls were up against that team again for their last game of the season, our girls were pumped! It was a shock that they were not more intimidated, they were ready to dominate!
I will spare you the details. But there were a couple of conflicts again with the team. But that did not stop The Princesses! They played their best game EVER! What a way to end a season! With a very much deserved WIN!
Way to go girls! Can't wait to see you back on the fields this Fall!

Dooby Dooby Moo!

Mia The Duck

Here are some pictures from Mrs. Anderson's 1st Grade Class production of Dooby Dooby Moo!
The kids worked very hard all year on this production and put it on for the parents on Thursday afternoon. Mia was a duck. Or as she puts it "The Main Duck". Funny.
Here are a couple of clips from the show:

I think the kids did a wonderful job with their little musical!

Almost As Big As a Chimp!

Today was such a gorgeous (almost hot) day! We woke up and decided that we needed to put our housework on hold so we could take a trip to the Tulsa Zoo. Some friends mentioned they were also going, and we ended up getting there just a bit after they did. We decided to walk the zoo together. So glad we did. It was a great time. Mia and Tia like to play together :)
The Tulsa Zoo was pretty busy, which is not a big surprise. The girls really wanted to take a camel ride. I hear the ride was kinda bumpy. Bahahahaha! We pretty much covered the whole zoo and it got pretty *warm* at times. But nothing a little train ride around the zoo couldn't fix! That was fun. I am anxious to see if they will have the bird exhibit this year. We really love that one. You can hold up sticks of bird seed and the parakeets will land on you! Fun, unless you suffer from Ornithophobia. Yes, that is a new word in my vocabulary. I actually had to look it up. I don't suffer from that one and I guess I have never needed to know what the fear of birds is called. :)
We had a really great time today. I hope we get to make a trip back to the zoo very soon!
Here is a little slideshow of some pictures from the zoo.

Exhausting Day!

Being a kid is sure a lot of work! Everyday when I pick Mia up from Kidz Klub, we barely make it to the highway and i start noticing how quiet it is in the car. Sure enough, when I turn around, she is out like a light!!
Kidz Klub is coming to an end next week. Once again we will be bidding farewell to our First Christian friends and embarking on another year of school at Jenks.
It is bittersweet. :O) :O(

Children's Museum Trip and Riverwalk

With Mia being out of school, Troy is trying to find things to keep them busy. So when the opportunity to go to the Children’s Museum in Tulsa came up, he jumped on it!

They went with some friends of ours from First Christian. Waylon was in Mia’s class and now attends Jenks West with her. They went to the museum for a couple of hours and let off a little steam.

It basically is a place for all kinds of imaginary play. They have a grocery store, a post office, a clinic and even a jail! I think the kids threw Troy in the clink. They were pretty excited about the handcuffs. But scared at the same time because they were real! After the museum, they all met me down at the Riverwalk to have dinner at Los Cabos. YUM.

It is so awesome keeping the ties with our friends from First Christian. We were such a tight group!
