Baby Jesus

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard.
During the night the folks came across this scene.
An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep.

He chose baby Jesus as his comfort.

No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night.

Eight is Gonna Be Great!

Happy Birthday to Sweet Miss Mia! Today she turns EIGHT! Yikes how time has flown by!

Saturday We had two soccer games. So we were all excited to relax that night. Our friends had a football party and we decided to bring a birthday cake to celebrate ! After all, this is our Okie Family.

YouTube Video

We gave Mia her very own James Avery charm bracelet. She reeeeealllly loves it! Now we always have gift ideas. We also gave her a Middleton Doll. She is obsessed with dolls. Grandma Sherri got her Ivy, the American Girl this summer for her early birthday gift. She got her first Middleton doll with some birthday money she received during the same trip to Wisco. She plays with "Hadli" all the time and really wanted another one for her birthday. After her first soccer game we drove her to Girlfriends Gifts in Broken Arrow and let her pick out her new baby. This one she named "Ashley".

Today she wanted to go to The Funhouse at the Riverwalk. We played some games, won few tickets and cashed in on some Tootsie Rolls. It was great! And turns out...Mia is a darn good driver! She was passing levels on this driving game like a pro!

After The Funhouse we went to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Eberhardt and their friends from Wisconsin, Mike and Lynn O'Brien. We were going to take Mia to Red Robin for a birthday dinner. She got another charm for her bracelet among other things. This charm is a Dachshund. So cute!

It was a great day. Thanks everyone for her birthday wishes!

Mother's Day 2010

Today is Mother's Day. It has been OK so far. Mia and I have had our little head butts through the day like any normal day. I wish they didn't have to occur at all. Especially on a holiday like Mother's Day. But unfortunately a seven year old's ears sometimes tend to function at less than 50%. Therefore causing one to need to repeat one's self often. But regardless of all that, we had a pretty good day. We went to a matinee performance of Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. It was soooooo cute! It was a small intimate production and the cast was fabulous. The girl who played Lilly was hilarious.

After the play we went and got Peachwave Frozen Yogurt. Yummy! They have Peanut Butter frozen yogurt. It is so delish! If you have never been there before, Peachwave is a self serve frozen yogurt place. They have at least 10-12 different yogurt machines. You fill your cup with whatever you want and then take it for a trip down the aisle of toppings! You can load your cup with as much (or as little) as you want because you pay by the ounce. I like this place because I am not a huge ice cream lover. I just want a taste. My counter part loves to heap on the toppings. So it works out well.

Mmmmm...

Whatchooo Lookin' At?

Later on this evening, we went with Troy's parents to the Bonefish Grill. That is our favorite special occasion place to eat. Thanks Sher Bear for turning us on to "The Bone"! As you may or may not know, their Bang Bang Shrimp is the BOMB, and they have the best Creme Brûlée in the world. At least in Amber, Troy and Mia's World!

Typical Bonefish Artwork!

Needless to say we are all stuffed and ready for some chill out time before we have to start another busy work/school week. Tomorrow is ribbon week at swim! Yay!
Happy Mother's Day! I hope you all either had a fabulous day with your loved ones, or treated your Mama great today!

Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse

Today I had computer problems at work. While they were working some magic on my Outlook problem, I took advantage of the few extra minutes to page through the latest issue of Tulsa People. After all, it was the Dog issue and it has been sitting on the chair in my office for almost a week now. I am finding that I really need to read this magazine more often. There are a lot of things going on around here that I am completely unaware of! One being a production of "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. This is one of my all time favorite children's books written by author Kevin Henkes. He lives in Madison, just in case you didn't know that. He writes the cutest books and Mia is now a fan as well. I jumped right on my iPhone (since I was without computer) and purchased three tickets to the Sunday Matinee. What a great Mother's Day plan!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day!

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was full of events. Luckily Friday night we just relaxed. But Saturday was BUSY! Mia had a really early game so we had to be up super early. I fully intended on taking more soccer pics, but when I turned on my camera at the game...sadly I realized that I had left my SD card at home. DUH Amber! After the game Mia went with Ella to an Easter Egg Hunt. They had a blast hunting for eggs full of candy, doing crafts and playing in the Jupiter Jump. Later that night we attended Easter service at church. Oh my gosh was it awesome!!!! Go here to see pictures and watch the video of the service. Video may not be posted until later this week. But it is sooooooo worth watching. They did baptism at all five services held last weekend. WOW. You just need to see it. Seriously wonderful!
Sunday we hung out and decorated eggs and had Easter dinner with Don and June. It was not very good, but oh well. What can ya do right? I am not planning my career on Food Network anytime soon, unless it is on that show called "Worst Cooks in America". That one would TOTALLY work for me. Then I can go from there to TLC's show "What Not to Wear." It is a sad, sad thing.

we bumped our head before this picture :(

is this better? not really...but oh well! :)

Holiday Celebration...Florida Style

This year was the year to celebrate the Christmas holiday with the Veitfam. We packed our bags and headed for sunny...yet just a bit warmer Florida. We just hung out, did some shopping at the most fabulous mall ever (Coconut Point) and relaxed. We had two small holiday get togethers. One with a group of Wisconsin transplants who are friends with my parents. And one with some longtime friends who were also taking the holiday to vacation in Florida. It was nice to get to hang out with all of them. We also celebrated my Mom's birthday. I won't tell her age. I don't want her to get mad at me. But I will say that the next one is a milestone!

We are heading back to reality now. :(
It sure does stink to go home after vacation. But picking up our three dogs from the doggie hotel makes it not quite so bad. Plus Santa left Mia a letter at Grandma's condo for Christmas telling her of all the presents she has waiting for her in Tulsa. She is pretty excited to see what he has brought her this year.

Well, Happy New Year to all! Now go take down your tree and lights! And pray we get more fresh snow in Tulsa tonight since we missed the blizzard while we were on vacation!! I will be waxing our sled. ;0)

The Most Wonderful Time...

Jello Anyone!?

It's the MOST wonderful time of the year...With the kids trick or treating and all of us meeting 'round a keg full of beer...Oh the MOST wonderful time...of THE YEAR!

Last weekend was the Annual Eberhardt Halloween Bash. And just as it creeps up on us each year, it sped by like a flash. Troy got a jump start on all the black wall covering as soon as we got back from our little Dallas trip to see Mat Kearney...*sigh*...where was I? Oh yeah, so we got to decorating and prepping the house and were waaaay ahead of schedule. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a lot of work. Friday night and Saturday all day (after Mia's soccer game) was full of preparation. My feet were killing me before the party even started!
As usual, everyone was in the Halloween spirit with their costumes! In my opinion, this year was the BEST year for costumes! Don't get me wrong, there are always good ones, but I did more mouth covering...finger pointing than normal! Here are just a few pics!

Paul Blart - Mall Cop & Minnie Mouse

Patrick won 1st Place, if you watch SNL you know...

Don won 2nd Place...we were all impressed...he
bought his costume ONLINE!

Heather, Jeannie and Me!

(some of) The Ladies!

Kelly & Coach Mike!

The Buchanans

High School Musical Cheerleader and her Mall Cop!

Like I said, that was a few pictures! We have tons more. Some of which will be used to make the 2009 Halloween Collage for the Wall of Fame for next year's party! I'm sad it is over so soon. Now we need to start looking towards Thanksgiving and Christmas! Can you believe that the radio station that dedicates itself to playing nothing but Christmas music 24/7 has already started spinning holiday tunes for the year! It just gets earlier and earlier every year. As long as they don't take away Halloween...I think I'll get by!

Lazy Sunday

Friday, I actually left work early for reasons not pertaining to a sick child, doctor's appointment or school function! It was weird. I was planning on taking the whole day off of work to spend with Mia on her final day of Fall Break. Troy had stayed home the other two days. I made the decision to just go in to work since the weather had been crummy all week and I only had 2 days of vacation left until March. Boy did I make the wrong decision! It was GORGEOUS on Friday. I did get a lot of work done, but after lunch I decided to cut out a couple hours early so I could take Mia to the pumpkin patch. We mainly went to Pumpkin Town for the photo op only! Their pumpkins sure are beautiful, but they are extraordinarily priced! After we left Pumpkin Town, we went to Sooner Produce (on the corner of 21st and Harvard for all you Tulsans) to pick our pumpkin. They had lots of beautiful pumpkins as well and are very, very reasonable!

Mia at Pumpkin Town

Today has been such a lazy Sunday.
Yesterday Troy went to the OSU Homecoming football game. He left Tulsa with Coach Mike, his brother in law and a college friend at 2:00pm. They spent the afternoon in Stillwater partying tailgate style until the game started. Then they headed to Eskimo Joe's for the first half of the game. Troy had one request on his trip to Stillwater. This was to bring home some Eskimo Joe's cups. They are these great big plastic cups, great for drinking TEA out of. Or your beverage of choice. Apparently you are served your drinks in the Joe's cups and get to take them with you as a souvenir. I lost count of the number of cups as I loaded them in the dishwasher, but there has to be at least 10. Troy claims that he was given a few extra cups by the bartender. But he could also be in denial of his final drink count. Either way, he was not at 100% today. He claims he was not GOMA today. "I'm just tired" is the claim I received several times today. Troy, you can't fool the Goma Warrior. :0)

Here they are with a shooter to start the day!

Today we just hung out in our normal lazy way. We did take Mia to the park for a while...until we came upon a bunch of wasps. I was outta there! Troy has been counting down the minutes until bed time, so I am fairly positive he is glad that we are all tucked in bed watching our Sunday night TV shows! Lots to do in the next few weeks, like a trip to Dallas and the Mat Kearney concert as well as our annual Halloween Bash...we better rest up!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter. We have had a glum day today. Don't get me wrong. I
love rain. And we sure need it here in Tulsa. But today it just is
yucky.
Hope you enjoyed your day.

Universal Studios and Downtown Disney Videos

We just got back from Universal Studios. We had a blast. We drove down last night and stayed in Orlando, right across the street from Universal! It worked out great! We went out to Downtown Disney last night and ate a wonderful dinner at Fulton's. It was so yummmmmmay! I posted a TON of videos that Mom and I took with our Flip video recorders to YouTube. I thought it might be easier to just link this post to my YouTube site for you to view them there! If you click the title of this blog it will take you there. Or you can copy and paste this website into your browser address bar.

Kansas City -Mini Getaway

We are on the way home from Kansas City. We had a nice visit with all
of Troy's old branch. We took Mia to a cool kids arts and crafts place
called Kaleidoscope. It is owned by Hallmark. It was awesome! It is
a place where kids can just go crazy and use their imagination and
creativity. We went out to dinner at Baha 600 (a Mexican restaurant in
the Plaza area) and had some drinks. We stayed at The Raphael Hotel in
the plaza. Nice rooms and a charming aptmosphere. It was a nice
little get away. This is a picture of Mia outside the chocolate shop
in Union Station. You know Mia has a love for chocolate, but it does
make her crazy. She was an angel the whole time. We were very proud of
her behavior. (Since sometimes she tends to act a bit spoiled!)
We are all excited to get home to our doggies. I wonder how Hannah did
on her first overnight stay without us! Hopefully the Bassets showed
her the ropes and cuddled with her all night to keep her cozy. :O)

Tryin' Out the Tripod

I ordered a new tripod before Christmas, but when it arrived from Amazon.com (my favorite past-time) it was broken. So we went and bought one from Target to replace it. Troy hooked it up and got it ready for me on New Year's Eve. We played around and took timed pics with all the dogs. Troy and I even got a good one together! If I would have had it when we needed it for our Christmas picture, we could have brightened all of your holidays with a family picture. I am so sure you are all sad about that.
It is too bad that we didn't have a more eventful evening last night. If you saw our New Year's Eve pictures, you know that it was a pretty boring night at The Eberhardt house!!! Don has hurt his back and has been on muscle relaxers and pain pills since the day after Christmas. He was crashed out on the couch all night. Troy played some Guitar Hero - World Tour and Juney and Mia played Wii Tennis. I fought sleep all night and ended up in bed with a headache by 11:30 pm. I listened to the ball drop from my bedroom. I am so lame.
Hey, you gotta pick and choose those special party nights. They are few and far between as we get older and it gets harder to get out of bed the next morning!!

Early New Year's Eve

We have still not figured out what to do for New Years. So we are at Outback filling our tummies one last time for 2008! Don and Juney came up to visit and hang out for New Year's Eve.

We did get some bargains at the new liquor store in Jenks!
Cheers!!!!

9 YEARS!

Tomorrow, January 1, 2009, we mark our 9 year anniversary of being Oklahomans. It is so hard to believe isn't it!? I thought it would be funny to post a link from my REALLY old website that I used to update back before we had Mia. I have included the link to the pictures of our house when we first moved in. If you have ever been in our house now, you will see how it has drastically changed over the years! You can also look through all of the other little pages that are archived on that site. Some links are expired or broken and no longer work. But most are still running. It is so funny how technology has changed as well over the years! I thought that was so awesome to be able to do that site!

I Hate 2008

ADIOS 2008.....You will NOT be missed!

I cannot think of one year that I have been more excited to leave than
OH EIGHT. Thinking back, it has been pretty miserable and I gladly
bid it farewell.
I would go into all of the reasons why I hate OH EIGHT, but to be
quite honest, I am trying to look forward and all I feel like saying
is that it sucked!
I was thinking about New Years Eve approaching in a day and a half,
and I could not be more excited to buy a bunch of booze and party my
booty off. I hate OH EIGHT that much! I hate it so much that I would
gladly welcome a whole day in bed with nothing but a bunch of freeze
pops and a trash can next to my head. And you know how miserable that
is to me! Not really, but you know...!
So I got really excited when I came across an article on the Internet
regarding what they are calling "Good Riddance Day". Could this be
more fitting? Do they do this every year? I have never noticed this
observance before.
But then again, I have never really minded every other year until OH
EIGHT! Apparently in New York, people come to Time Square on said day
and shred memories of the passing year. People either write their
memories down on paper or bring pictures or letters with them to
shred. What a fun idea. I had actually had a similar thought this
morning while driving to work! Only mine consisted of a fire pit,
lighter fluid and a book of matches!

It is now that I say with a happy heart...WELCOME OH NINE! You can't
come fast enough!

Christmas...The Day After

Here I am with my Vera Bradley Boxer Shorts! Sweet! I love my Vera!

Troy loved his Youth Soccer Coaching Books!

Whew! Christmas is over! I didn't think I'd say this, but I am actually glad it is. Is that horrible or what?! This Christmas was just so busy, it is nice to just breathe and know there is not something going on tonight, or not something we have to go buy. We had a good Christmas. I got a new camera which will be a lot of fun. It will take me some time to figure out how to use it properly, but it should keep me busy.
We went to Oklahoma City to Troy's parents. We stayed a couple of days, but had to return to Tulsa on the 26th for work. I only worked for half the day, so it wasn't so bad.
Now it's time to relax and watch some normal TV programs! No more claymation til next year!
We did make some Christmas cookies tonight because we neglected our child and did not provide her with any yet this year. :-/

Pwease,Pwease Santa!

Dear Santa,
I know I have been a little shit lately and have caused much
destruction to my family's things. But I am just a puppy Santa! Can
you pwease forgive me for all I have done wrong? Pwease bring me a
bag of treats and something that I can tear the stuffing out of! I
promise to be a good dog next year. I will even work on not leaving a
little Hannah Present in the doorway of my Mom and Dad's room anymore.
Wuv,
Hannah
