Holiday Celebration...Florida Style

This year was the year to celebrate the Christmas holiday with the Veitfam. We packed our bags and headed for sunny...yet just a bit warmer Florida. We just hung out, did some shopping at the most fabulous mall ever (Coconut Point) and relaxed. We had two small holiday get togethers. One with a group of Wisconsin transplants who are friends with my parents. And one with some longtime friends who were also taking the holiday to vacation in Florida. It was nice to get to hang out with all of them. We also celebrated my Mom's birthday. I won't tell her age. I don't want her to get mad at me. But I will say that the next one is a milestone!

We are heading back to reality now. :(
It sure does stink to go home after vacation. But picking up our three dogs from the doggie hotel makes it not quite so bad. Plus Santa left Mia a letter at Grandma's condo for Christmas telling her of all the presents she has waiting for her in Tulsa. She is pretty excited to see what he has brought her this year.

Well, Happy New Year to all! Now go take down your tree and lights! And pray we get more fresh snow in Tulsa tonight since we missed the blizzard while we were on vacation!! I will be waxing our sled. ;0)

The Most Wonderful Time...

Jello Anyone!?

It's the MOST wonderful time of the year...With the kids trick or treating and all of us meeting 'round a keg full of beer...Oh the MOST wonderful time...of THE YEAR!

Last weekend was the Annual Eberhardt Halloween Bash. And just as it creeps up on us each year, it sped by like a flash. Troy got a jump start on all the black wall covering as soon as we got back from our little Dallas trip to see Mat Kearney...*sigh*...where was I? Oh yeah, so we got to decorating and prepping the house and were waaaay ahead of schedule. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a lot of work. Friday night and Saturday all day (after Mia's soccer game) was full of preparation. My feet were killing me before the party even started!
As usual, everyone was in the Halloween spirit with their costumes! In my opinion, this year was the BEST year for costumes! Don't get me wrong, there are always good ones, but I did more mouth covering...finger pointing than normal! Here are just a few pics!

Paul Blart - Mall Cop & Minnie Mouse

Patrick won 1st Place, if you watch SNL you know...

Don won 2nd Place...we were all impressed...he
bought his costume ONLINE!

Heather, Jeannie and Me!

(some of) The Ladies!

Kelly & Coach Mike!

The Buchanans

High School Musical Cheerleader and her Mall Cop!

Like I said, that was a few pictures! We have tons more. Some of which will be used to make the 2009 Halloween Collage for the Wall of Fame for next year's party! I'm sad it is over so soon. Now we need to start looking towards Thanksgiving and Christmas! Can you believe that the radio station that dedicates itself to playing nothing but Christmas music 24/7 has already started spinning holiday tunes for the year! It just gets earlier and earlier every year. As long as they don't take away Halloween...I think I'll get by!

Dallas Bound!

Well...I guess I knew that our trip to Vegas this year would probably not be happening. So I snagged us two tickets to The Fabulous Mat Kearney show at the House of Blues Dallas. I am sick with excitement. For some reason when I REALLY like a singer, I get overly excited when an opportunity arises to see them live. My Tulsa friends can back me on this from when I jump up and down with excitement to see William Joseph Band. They are local and fabulous. But enough about that...we are talking Dallas right now.
So Troy and I recruited Don and Juney to stay with Mia and all the mutts. :). We are on our own for the day. It is exciting, but seems strange because we always have the whiner, I mean Mia with us. That is a joke. But true. Love ya Mia! :)
We are staying a mile away from the House of Blues at a boutique hotel called Hotel Indigo. I have no idea if it is a decent place since this will be our first time in Dallas. At this point, it could be a dive and I would not care. I am just that excited. I am really hopeful that they will have autographs after the concert. We were in such a hurry to get on the road that I forgot my camera. I doubt my trusty iPhone camera will take good pix inside the House of Blues, so I'm scoping out anywhere on the way that might carry a disposable camera. Leave it to me to forget something that important. I mean, seriously, how do I expect to have my picture taken with Mat if I don't have a camera!? Doiation MINUS. Mom, you and Uncle Bobby will appreciate that one.
More to come as the day goes on...Stay Tuned!

Lazy Sunday

Friday, I actually left work early for reasons not pertaining to a sick child, doctor's appointment or school function! It was weird. I was planning on taking the whole day off of work to spend with Mia on her final day of Fall Break. Troy had stayed home the other two days. I made the decision to just go in to work since the weather had been crummy all week and I only had 2 days of vacation left until March. Boy did I make the wrong decision! It was GORGEOUS on Friday. I did get a lot of work done, but after lunch I decided to cut out a couple hours early so I could take Mia to the pumpkin patch. We mainly went to Pumpkin Town for the photo op only! Their pumpkins sure are beautiful, but they are extraordinarily priced! After we left Pumpkin Town, we went to Sooner Produce (on the corner of 21st and Harvard for all you Tulsans) to pick our pumpkin. They had lots of beautiful pumpkins as well and are very, very reasonable!

Mia at Pumpkin Town

Today has been such a lazy Sunday.
Yesterday Troy went to the OSU Homecoming football game. He left Tulsa with Coach Mike, his brother in law and a college friend at 2:00pm. They spent the afternoon in Stillwater partying tailgate style until the game started. Then they headed to Eskimo Joe's for the first half of the game. Troy had one request on his trip to Stillwater. This was to bring home some Eskimo Joe's cups. They are these great big plastic cups, great for drinking TEA out of. Or your beverage of choice. Apparently you are served your drinks in the Joe's cups and get to take them with you as a souvenir. I lost count of the number of cups as I loaded them in the dishwasher, but there has to be at least 10. Troy claims that he was given a few extra cups by the bartender. But he could also be in denial of his final drink count. Either way, he was not at 100% today. He claims he was not GOMA today. "I'm just tired" is the claim I received several times today. Troy, you can't fool the Goma Warrior. :0)

Here they are with a shooter to start the day!

Today we just hung out in our normal lazy way. We did take Mia to the park for a while...until we came upon a bunch of wasps. I was outta there! Troy has been counting down the minutes until bed time, so I am fairly positive he is glad that we are all tucked in bed watching our Sunday night TV shows! Lots to do in the next few weeks, like a trip to Dallas and the Mat Kearney concert as well as our annual Halloween Bash...we better rest up!

App Store Addict and Photo Edit Freak

I can't get out of the iTunes App Store! I keep finding new apps to make my little buddy the iPhone more fun! My newest apps are Best Camera, ColorSplash and Photoshop.com Mobile. The Best Camera app is so cool I am not sure what I like more, the app or the concept of the app. You can check out the creator's YouTube piece on the app's inspiration. I think it is such a neat thought. And he has a book that he put together of all iPhone pictures! I love taking pictures, and seeing as my iPhone is always attached to my hand, it is usually what I use in a pinch. They turn out great! I am impressed with the quality. Add to that the tweaks that can be made to your photos in certain iPhone apps and you have some awesome pics! In the Best Camera app, you can also share your creations direct to Twitter, Facebook, email and the Best Camera website for the world to see. Below are some shots that were taken with my trusty iPhone and edited with my new apps!

Here is a link to view Chase Jarvis' You Tube video about Best Camera:

*This one also edited with ColorSplash first

Now go App and Edit Crazy! But don't forget to share!!!

We are not human beings on a spiritual journey, we are spiritual beings on a human journey.

Today was a busy and productive day. We got up early and did a little shopping. Then we were off to Mia's soccer game. They did awesome and had a lot of great shots. They ended up winning. Too bad Coach Mike was not here for the game. He would have been proud!
Then Troy and I made fajitas and a cheesecake quesadilla! YUM! Sooo good!
Tomorrow is a very exciting day. We are attending the "Together Again" service at church. Our church has been remodeling the main auditorium for months now. Our services have been separated and the kid's auditorium has been used for one of the adult services. They are finally done with the remodeling and tomorrow we all get to be back together. While they were working on the main auditorium, the services have been separated. One for the families with children so they had access to the kids classrooms. And one for the families with no children. It will be so awesome to have things back to normal!
If you live in Tulsa, you need to go to one service. It is a fantastic! We finally feel like we have found a place! You can check it out online and watch previous services. Andy Chrisman and his worship team are AWESOME! You almost feel like you are at a christian rock concert! And Pastor Willie George always has a great message and a very, very entertaining way of bringing it to you! Here is the web addy...check it out! www.churchonthemove.com

34 Falls

I wasn't planning on writing on our blog tonight, but I sat down to watch Survivor and my iPhone was open to the BlogPress app. So, I thought, what the heck.

Tonight is rainy. REALLY, REALLY rainy! I was in a torrential downpour on the way home. Horrible, horrible rain. So hard that you couldn't see the car in front of you, hard! All the streets are becoming lakes, hard! I love the rain, but when I am inside at work or home in bed. Not when I am a soggy mess outside. But on the bright side, the cool FALL weather is so awesome I can hardly stand it! This is my 34th Fall and I am loving it!

It is already the end of the first week of October and I still have decorations that need to be hung!
Add to that, the fact that none of us Eberhardts have decided on our Halloween costumes and you can see our busy weekend ahead! Normally every year I have all of our costumes all dialed in. But I just can't decide what I want to be. Nothing is calling my name. Troy and Mia pretty much know what they will be, but we just have to pick the stuff up. I need ideas. At this rate I'm going to go as a bar wench. And I don't really want to go as myself, so I better get thinking!

My friend Jenifer and her husband Craig just had their first baby last Friday. They had a baby girl and named her Hadli Francis and she is sooooo cute. I wish we lived closer so I could see her! Here she is, so precious in pink and in the car seat we sent her!

One more quick pic...then I need to go watch Survivor since it is almost over now...:)
I had to include this one because they are just so cute. This is Mia with her friend Tia. Hahahaha! I know! How adorable is that!? Tia goes to Mia's school and is in Kindergarten. She lives in the back of our neighborhood. She is just adorable and Mia loves to hang out with her. I took their picture last Friday when they were playing together.

Well, time to go blow up the inflatable bed for Mia since it is thundering so hard right now. We are sure to have a little guest crashing in our room tonight!

Fall Soccer 2009

Well...The 2009 Fall Soccer Season is on! The girls have had three weekends of games so far. Last weekend we had two games! It had been busy, but we are having so much fun! This year they are playing U7, which means they added two players to our team AND move up to bigger fields. These fields ROCK! They have more room to actually run now! The girls are learning some positioning as well which has proven to be interesting as well as so much fun! The coolest thing is how well all these girls work together and get along. They are having so much fun and making great friends! It is fun for us parents too! :)
Here are some pictures from a couple of the games. Aren't they cute?!

iPhone Problems

I am kinda getting tired of always being challenged with my electronics. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like to sharpen my brain with the process of fixing the issue. But it just seems like I am always working out a kink lately. Whether it be installing MobileMe which messed with all my contacts on my iPhone or needing to reboot my AppleTV twice in one week. Nothing ever seems to just be. No poking along or going with he flow. Constant intruruption and troubleshooting.
Hope you all are enjoying a tech issue free evening.

Going on a Roadtrip!

What a gorgeous day for a roadtrip! Troy and I are on our way to Rudy's Roadtrip where we will party on a bus which goes all over the Madison outskirts with friends and family in honor of Jamie! I'm pretty sure that the day could NOT get more beautiful than this. Thank You Jamie!
