The Last Day of 2nd Grade...

Today is the last day.
The last day of 2nd Grade.
The last day of Mia's 1st year of Multiage class.
The last day of teachings by two of the best teachers on EARTH!

This school year blew by so fast my head is spinning. I feel like I have been so busy and preoccupied with work this year. It makes me so sad that it is coming to an end.

We are so very blessed to have had Mrs. Anderson for two straight years and Mrs. Robertson this year. They are two of most awesome ladies ever, not to mention great role models and teachers for the kids! Mia would do ANYTHING to please them. That makes me smile.

I hope they know how much we all LOVE them.

We will miss them so much.

Thanks Mrs. A and Mrs. R!!!
XO-
The Eberhardts :)

Woot! End of the Year!

Please help me congratulate our Miss Mia. Her end of the year tests show she is reading at a 4th Grade Level. That's fabulous! She also knows 150/150 sight words and scored a 95/102 on her Bear Test.
Way to go Mia!
Now bring on Summer!

I just received this email from Mia's teachers. Wow! OUTSTANDING Mia! We are so proud of you!
If you know Mia, please tell her how proud you are too!

"Your child was chosen from our class to be a BEST OF THE WEST BUCKAROO for showing outstanding behavior during the month of September! Their picture will be on the Bulletin Board by the Main Office.
Please tell them how proud we are for their awesome displays of respect!"

First Cowpokes!

“Our class is the first ‘COWPOKES of the week’ class! Mrs. Lair is so proud of us! Great job!”
-Tracy Robertson, Jenks West 2nd Grade Teacher

I don't know what this honor means...so I will indeed be asking Mia tonight. But I thought I would post this since it is a picture of her class. This year she is in Multi-age 1st and 2nd. There are 25 1st and 25 2nd graders. Mrs. Robertson is the 2nd Grade teacher and Mrs. Anderson is the 1st Grade teacher. OMG….They are WONDERFUL!!! :0)

Celebrate Good Times!

Friday after school/work kicked off a celebration weekend. We picked up Mia from aftercare and headed to the Jenks West Summer Kick Off Fest. This was the first year that Jenks West held this party. It was held outside and full of activities. Carnival games, bouncy houses, sno cones (yummy!), hot dogs, Safari Joe and lots of animals, just to name a few. The kids really enjoyed it. Especially the sno cones! Mia's favorite part was getting to pet all the reptiles! She was not one bit afraid of the big huge Banana Python!

And when the opportunity came to actually hold a snake, she was sooo excited! She thinks they feel weird!

After we got home from the Summer Kick Off, we moved our party to our wonderful friends and neighbors' house to help them "prep" for their daughter Chelsi's High School graduation party. By that I mean test the food and drink and make sure that the music would come out of the speakers at just the right volume! Their great friend Terry and his family came over and brought his smoker. He smoked a whole fridge full of meats. Bologna, brisket, chicken, ham, brats and I'm sure there is something I missed. It was to die for! I paid very close attention. This is something we Eberhardts need to learn how to do! Saturday was the big party. And we all enjoyed the heck out of all the prep that the McGuires did. They put on a wonderful party, full of friends and family! Did I mention there was a cajun crawfish and shrimp boil too?!

It was delish! As much as I really wanted to eat the crawfish, I had a really hard time. The first reason is that we saw them alive and clawing before the party while they awaited their pot of doom. And here is the other reason...

Yep! Mia found a pet in the *cooked* crawfish. She carried him around the party and named him Crabby. I pretty much think my consumption of crawfish will never take place. Oh well! I can still eat shrimp! (As long as they don't take on names and personalities!)

38 Days

Here it is! Mia's 1st Grade Class Picture! We would have probably had it sooner, had we not had school cancellations due to weather. The kids look just a tad bigger to me since the K picture last year. You can see it here: Mia's K Class.
There are only 38 days left of 1st Grade. It is so hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by! I am in straight denial of this fact. There is a good chance Mia may have Mrs. Anderson again next year since she is teaching the multilevel class next year. Mia would love that, but also is totally cool if she gets put in a new class for 2nd graders only. We shall see.
Time to get enrolled for Summer Camp!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

In celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday today the kids could dress up as a Dr. Seuss character. Mia was Max the dog from How The Grinch Stole Christmas. They ate Green Eggs and Ham for lunch. Yummy!

Mia E. Eberhardt - 1st Grader (at last)

Today was Mia's first day of 1st Grade. Boy was it hectic. The building that she is in is quite the hoppin' place to be! We got to school early and we were still in a huge swarm of people.

We met her teacher Ms. Anderson on Tuesday at "Meet the Teacher." She is really super nice and is in a newly remodeled room to boot! Two or three of the kids from her Kindergarten class are in her class this year, including one of her "besties" Leah! She is super excited to have some familiar faces there with her this year.

More to come on Mia's "take" on the 1st Grade!

Stay tuned!!!

Summertime

This summer is certainly flying by! I just looked at my calendar and realized I really need to start planning for Mia's school year. We are very excited for the first week of school because that means Grandma Sherri will be here visiting. And we are sooooo excited to meet Mia's 1st grade teacher. But Summer will be over then, and even though I don't really care much for the HEAT...it sure does seem more relaxing.
Mia has still been having fun at Kidz Klub with her old First Christian friends. We went on one trip to Wisconsin for the 4th of July. It was FUN! Great times were had, even though we missed some visits with some of our friends. Things just get so hectic with only 7 days to spend. It was soooo wonderful to get to see our lil buddy Isaac! Boy do I wish I was able to see him EVERY SINGLE DAY! He cracks me up! If you tell him "You're a mess!" He would follow up with "Mess?" Oh it was just so cute!
On our drive back to Tulsa, we stopped in St. Louis for the first time to visit the Arch! We pass it on every trip, so it was soooo awesome to finally get to see it up close! Mia and Troy took the pod up to the top. I had to stay on the ground since we had Hannah with us. I just enjoyed the park area down below on the ground watching all the people. St. Louis is really a place that I would love to visit again for a weekend! It looks like such a happening place!
Well, I am off to watch Big Brother! What a guilty pleasure! We are all into it at the Eberhardt house!!! :)

OH MY! I have not been on here in FOREVER!!! I am so sorry to all of those that might actually read this! You probably think I have fallen off the face of the Earth or something! Ok...so I have a lot of catching up to do! Things have been so busy!

Since April, when I last posted...Mia "graduated" from Kindergarten! She had a GREAT year in Mrs. Miller's class! She was a bit sad to leave her class. But Mrs. Miller told her that no matter which 1st Grade teacher she gets, she will love them. I guess all the 1st Grade teachers are awesome! She started her summer attending the Kidz Klub at First Christian. It is good to see some old friends!
In the early evenings, and all weekend long, you will find Miss Mia in the backyard swimming! The pool that we bought last summer is sure paying off so far this summer!
We are continuing to work hard with equivalent amounts of play! We look forward to a summer full of fun with friends!

Sam I Am

This week Mia's school celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday. They got to
bring any of his books to class to share with everyone. AND the kids
were all served Green Eggs and Ham. Mia loved it so much that she
requested it for dinner that same night. I have had it before, and know
it is good, but looks sure are so deceiving. It was hard to take that
first bite. But they were yummmay!
This week has been so busy. Filled with late work nights which
included an accounting system upgrade that so far has been failing
miserably and also one of two audits scheduled this month. We have
teacher conferences and swim tonight and Mia has no school tomorrow.
Then, two birthday parties and a get together with friends on Saturday!
Busy but fun! I can't wait to go to Florida in less than two weeks!
I hope it is relaxing as well as fun! :O)
